Director, Strategic Video Initiatives
Meghan Sims is the director of strategic video initiatives for McClatchy’s national video operation. She oversees video product and operations for the organization’s 30 news publications across the country, including iconic brands such as The Miami Herald, The Sacramento Bee and Kansas City Star. She also oversees the company’s innovation efforts at McClatchy New Ventures Lab, where the mission is to explore what’s next in visual journalism by creating powerful nonfiction stories across a range of emerging technologies, in an effort to ensure local journalism is amplified on current and future platforms. Prior to joining McClatchy, Meghan was the manager of video operations at The Washington Post, spearheading production and infrastructure efforts and was part of the team that won the National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Emmy for station excellence, along with back-to-back Edward R. Murrow Awards for overall video excellence for an online news site.
