HP Customer Support Video Manager
Ben Johnson manages a global video production team, responsible for the creation, production, and management of support and training videos within HP Customer Support. Millions of HP customers, agents, technicians, and partners use these videos to better use their HP products.
After five years of writing support articles for HP, Ben started making HP videos in his basement with painted lights and Windows Movie Maker. Working with like-minded colleagues, his home-grown video efforts expanded to worldwide teams creating and publishing thousands of videos in 26 languages with 200,000+ subscribers. Recently Ben and his team completed a project to deliver mobile video studios across 10 HP sites, consisting of a prosumer camera, microphone, stands, and a teleprompter. This enabled sites without production crews to create quick, inexpensive videos.
Ben holds a BA in English with a Technical Communications emphasis from Boise State University, and an MBA in Organizational Leadership from George Fox University. Aside from his love of video, Ben is a family man. He lives in Boise, Idaho, with his wife and four kids. He is an avid camper, even in cold Idaho winters, a lover of bacon, and has been active in a youth mentoring program for 25 years.
